Whipped Feta And Oregano Dip

Creamy whipped feta cheese flavored with fresh oregano and sweet roasted garlic.

This is one of my favorite apps to have for an intimate party. It is easy and tastes amazing. It can also be made ahead, so prep can be done the day before leaving you time to get ready.

In recent times Feta has appeared on just about every menu and people have fallen in love with it. There are different types of feta weather from sheep or cows milk, it can be super creamy all the way so dry it crumbles. I like to use one that is creamy, but not too wet. I suggest you try a few and find your favorite. There is also a wide range of saltiness to them so always taste before you season.

What ingredients do you need for whipped feta and oregano dip?

  • Feta
  • Olive Oil
  • Fresh Oregano
  • Roasted Garlic
  • Sea Salt
  • Pepper

The Recipe

Place feta, garlic, and half of the oregano in a food processor and puree. Slowly add olive oil while the machine is on until you get a smooth thick consistency like thick yogurt. You want it to easily spread but not runny at all. Now taste for salt and pepper and season.

At this point you can build a smear plate by laying it out on a plate and garnishing with more oregano and drizzling with olive oil. You can then drag toast points or crudités through as a dip or you can make individual  Bruschetta on a toast point.

Recipe Tips:

  • If making a cheese board, I like to garnish with chili flakes or sumac and switch up the flavors with what I have on hand.
  • You can also use this spread on sandwiches.

Make Ahead:
  • Whipped feta can be made up to five days ahead of service.

Storing tips:
  • Store any leftover spread in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
