Ham and Brie Puff Pastry Roses

A beautiful presentation of salty fresh cut ham and creamy brie cheese wrapped in a flaky puff pastry crust with a tangy and sweet honey mustard sauce.

Sometimes you want a plate to not only taste amazing but look like you spent forever making it when you didn’t. This recipe looks complicated but is actually super fast and easy to create a bunch of them.  So it is perfect for a ladies lunch or a family picnic. Puff pastry is my go to when I want something fast that everyone is going to love. Bonus most store bought puff pastry is vegan so you can easily feed everyone by changing the filling to vegetables.

What ingredients do you need for ham and brie puff pastry roses?

  • Honey Baked Sliced Ham
  • Brie Cheese
  • Puff Pastry
  • Egg
  • Milk
  • Sea Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Honey
  • Whole Grain Dijon Mustard

The Recipe

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and spray muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray. Lay the puff pastry sheet on a cutting board and using a rolling pin flatten and roll the pastry a little thinner so it is easier to roll.  Cut the dough into 4 strips along the longer side and separate them so you have room to work with each piece.

Using a pastry brush, cover each strip with honey mustard sauce. Lay the ham and then the brie on top across the whole length of pastry. Roll each strip up creating a flower and place in prepared muffin tin. Place the tin in the oven and bake for approximately 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Serve with extra mustard on the side.

Recipe Tips:

  • Make sure you roll the pastry tight and push to the bottom of the muffin tin. You don't want them to open up too much.
  • When you think they are done in the oven, give them another 5 minutes. You want to make sure they cook through in the center.

Make Ahead:
  • You can definitely put your pastry together ahead of time but I suggest cooking the day of the event for best crispness.
  • The roses can be made and frozen stored in the muffin 2-3 weeks before. Take directly out of the freezer into the oven.

Storing tips:
  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
