Greek Yogurt with Homemade Maple Granola

Sweet and spicy crunch granola served with creamy Greek yogurt and fresh fruit to start your morning.

Homemade granola is so much better than store bought! It’s really easy and cheaper to make your own. Another bonus to making this, is you can control the amount of sugar in the recipe.  Granola is super customizable, just add all the ingredients you love.

Every time I make this recipe, the result is a little different because I tend to add anything I already have in my pantry. Whichever dried fruits, nuts or seeds that are already on hand, ends up in my granola.

Homemade Granola also makes a lovely hostess gift or holiday gift for friends!

Are there any recipe tips?

Tip #1

  • You can use any dried fruits or nuts in your granola as well as adding coconut and chocolate chips. I try to use things I have on hand or find on sale.

Tip #2

  • To up the flavor I sometimes add Garam Marsala, a little cayenne, ground star anise, or cumin. There are countless additional flavors!

Tip #3

  • I would recommend doubling this recipe. It will last a couple months in a dry airtight container.

Tip #4

  • Make sure to taste after it cools down to check for salt. The salt helps balance the sweetness.

How can I make this ahead?

  • Let’s say you’re in charge of hosting brunch for guests, this recipe is great to make ahead of time!
  • Make the granola a couple of days in advance and store in an airtight container once cooled.
  • The day of, let guests build their own. Or cut the fresh fruit and portion greek yogurt into serving bowls.

Storing?

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
