There is something about the combination of sweet and salty candied bacon and yummy peanut butter. It just makes your mouth water. I love this preparation because the bread gets crispy while the inside is warm and gooey with peanut butter and chewy bacon. It is packed with flavor and brings me back to my childhood with a warm cozy feeling in my tummy.
Beast served with a big glass of cold milk!
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Lay out thick cut bacon on a rack with a lined sheet pan underneath. Sprinkle bacon with brown sugar. Do not be shy with the sugar, you want to pile it up a little. Next sprinkle with black pepper and then bake in the oven until crispy. Take out of the oven when cooked and let cool.
Cut the baguette into 5 inch lengths and then cut each piece in half. Spread Old Home all natural peanut butter on one side and top with 4 slices of candied bacon. Drizzle with honey and put the two sides together. Place the sandwich on a panini maker and close the lid. Let cook for approximately 4 minutes. Or until crispy and melty inside.
