Ingredients

  • 12 oz.Egg noodles
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cottage cheese

Instructions

  1. Set the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Fill a large pot with water, add salt, and bring to a boil. When water is at a full rolling boil, cook the egg noodles until they are al Dente. Do not over cook or your kugel will be mushy. When cooked, do not rinse them. You do not want to rinse off the starch and remove the salt.
  3. Brush the baking dish with melted butter and then place the rest of the butter in a large bowl.
  4. Add eggs to butter and beat until frothy. Then add cottage cheese, sour cream nutmeg, salt, pepper, and milk. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Fold noodles into eggs and pour them into a baking dish.
  6. Place in the oven and bake for approximately 1 hour or until cooked through.
