An easy rustic French pastry similar to a pie or tart that is filled with sweet fresh blueberries flavored with lemon zest and formed in a flaky buttery crust.
Blueberry Mixture Instructions:
- Mixture together fresh blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and zest of 1 lemon.
Put it all together:
- Set the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Roll out pie dough and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Place blueberry mixture in the center. Making sure to leave a 2 inch border on the outside of the dough.
- Fold the pie dough creating a pleat that allows the dough to overlap as you create a crust around the entire dough.
- Brush the crust with a whole beaten egg. Then sprinkle the outside crush with sugar in the raw.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool before you move the galette, you want the dough to fully set.
