Brandy Cherries

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds fresh cherries, steamed and pitted
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and water and bring to a simmer in a large pot.
  2. Add cherries and let simmer for 5 minutes or until heated through and a little soft.
  3. Remove from heat and add the brandy and vanilla.
  4. Remove from heat and strain cherries out. Fill glass jars with cherries and then pour liquid until cherries are covered.
  5. Store in the refrigerator.
